Autumn 2018 scores update and food news!
A long overdue update has finally arrived with my full list of scores. Its taken over a year, buying a new house, getting a job and general laziness are just a few factors that have contributed to the delay. I’ve removed a number of establishments that have now closed, Bar de Nada (which was my first ever review in March 2013) was still on there which I believe may have closed in 2014! There are still well over 100 Nottingham and Nottinghamshire restaurants but there are still plenty of locations to discover. Someone recommended Balageru to me this week, an Ethiopian restaurant in the city centre. It appears to have been open for over 6 months with only 3 TripAdvisor reviews, a reminder there are hidden gems even to those who think we are in the know!
As part of the update I did adjust some scoring. Part of this is down to revisiting establishments and seeing an improvement or fall in one or more of my categories. Notably Alchemilla went up to a 9.5 following a number of excellent meals in their first year after my first review. They have also recently been visited by The Guardian and Alex Bond was voted “Chef to Watch” in the latest Good Food Guide.
In other exciting news Kushi-Ya are now ready to open on 4th October. Bookings are open already at: https://kushi-ya.co.uk/ and if my review is anything to go by then it should be a popular venue so get in while you can!
