No new reviews but bits of news

The relative quiet in Nottingham’s restaurant scene is not mirrored by my hectic last few weeks. A new job has seen me travelling more, though some excellent food in Brighton meant it wasn’t all bad news. More of that will come shortly.

I know a lot of people have been getting excited about the new street food area in the Victoria Centre. I am too and you can now book tickets for the opening weekend of the event: https://www.tickettailor.com/checkout/view-event/id/89298/chk/c7d9/ (Unfortunately I think most of the options have already sold out!) I will be sharing my thoughts on the new vendors.

Progress is being made, albeit slowly, on the most anticipated new opening of 2017, Alex Bond’s restaurant. The date has been pushed back several times so at this point I won’t speculate on when it will actually be. If his supper club was anything to go by though it will be worth the wait.

Whilst we are on supper clubs they do seem to be a growing trend. Private Chef ( it means comes to your house and cooks posh stuff without you having to go anywhere) Craig Floate has also entered into the spirit. He will be running his own at Debbie Bryan in the Lace Market. If you’re interested there are further details here

Excitingly (for me, not you) I have been invited to be a guest judge for Annie’s Burger Shack. They have been asking their followers to design new burgers with the winning creation to appear on the menu. You’ll be getting some live coverage on Twitter on Thursday 13th.

That’s it for now. I am off to Rome for a few days so I will no doubt be sharing my thoughts on the famous Italian cuisine on my return

Arrivederci
